The Boulder County Sheriff’s Office has reported that overnight weather produced a hard frost on area and that the Dome Fire has been 100 percent contained. The fire burned 84 acres.
The Sheriff’s Fire Command was terminated at noon today and incident command was delegated back to the Boulder Rural and the Fourmile fire protection districts, and the City of Boulder for mop-up operations. Future public information requests should be directed to these agencies that will continue to monitor the fire area.
The investigation into the cause of the fire is continuing. Investigators are confident that the fire was the result of human activity in the area, but the specific cause is undetermined. Investigators have been unable to pinpoint the origin of the fire but did locate two campfire pits where it is believed to have started.
